For most of us, it started when we were kids. In the department stores, we saw the boy’s and girl’s clothes neatly separated–blues to one side, pinks to another. It’s easy to realize how silly that distinction is now. Somewhere, occasionally, unisex clothing would be offered between the gendered sections. But too often “unisex” just means slightly boxy t-shirts and bland staples created for a manufacturing middle ground. Where’s the fun in that? 

Describing Virtue intimates and athlingerie as “unisex” isn’t wrong, it just feels a bit basic for what we’ve created. “Fashion’s fun. Fashion should be fun for everyone,” says founder Yotam Solomon. “We should all enjoy garments and fashion accessories the way we want to be wearing them, not because it fits into a mold or a box. The idea that certain colors, certain shapes and silhouettes would be only worn by certain genders is very misleading.” 

And that’s exactly why Virtue is described as genderless. For us, it comes down to our motto: “For you, for me, for every BODY.” Virtue seeks to swirl both masculine and feminine styles to empower sexy self-expression that transcends traditional gender norms. It’s also why our briefs are identical except for two variations–either with a pouch or compact, depending on what you need beneath. 

Our genderless designs are playful and powerful, a sex-positive statement to the wider world. For us, genderless fashion is about more than just clothing; it’s a statement of expression. “In the pursuit of pleasure and self-identity, there's no right or wrong,” says Solomon. “You just open the door for you to have the experience you want to have, the way you want to have it.”. 

You could also describe us as gender-fluid or gender-neutral, which fit our philosophy well, but genderless has that every BODY ring to it that we hope gives everyone the opportunity to wear what makes them feel best in their own skin.

Unlike common unisex clothing, which exists mostly because it manages to work for both genders, our genderless clothing is specifically designed to empower everyone beyond the binary.
